Ajay J Nandalike, Advocate

Pragati Law Chambers was founded in the year 2012 by lawyers who were earlier working in the dispute resolution department of a national level law firm in Bengaluru. In the last 8 years, it has established a presence in the Bengaluru dispute resolution landscape by representing prominent State Government Public Sector Undertakings, Multinational Companies and wide variety of clientele before all types of courts and tribunals in Bengaluru and also before the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity, National Company Law Appellate Tribunal and the Supreme Court of India. Currently, we have 10 lawyers apart from paralegal and office staff.

Manu K, Advocate

Manu K is a graduate of the Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur (2010). Prior to joining Pragati Law Chambers in 2014, he was working in Dua Associates, Bengaluru. He is experienced in handling a wide variety of civil and commercial disputes, construction arbitrations / suits, white collar crimes, among other types of matters. He specializes in real estate matters including conducting title searches and drafting of conveyances and manages the real estate practice of the firm. He is the principal legal advisor for Karnataka Road Development Corporation Ltd in relation to disputes with road contractors, toll related matters, government procurement (tender), land acquisition issues and appears in construction arbitrations in those matters.

Tanya John, Advocate

Tanya John is a graduate of Symbiosis College of Law, Pune (2009) and a Master of Laws specializing in Matrimonial laws from the University of Toronto, Canada (2010). She practiced in Canada for a year and later on joined Dua Associates, Bengaluru prior to joining Pragati Law Chambers. She has experience in handling general commercial litigations, industrial disputes, arbitrations, shareholder litigations, insolvency matters amongst other types of matters. She manages the matrimonial practice of the firm handling contested divorces, child custody matters, mutual consent divorces, domestic violence and maintenance matters. She also co-manages the labour law practice of the firm with Ajay and co-manages the company and insolvency matters in the firm with Ajay and Manu. She recently appeared in a batch of matters involving the challenge to the constitutionality of Section 164 of the Companies Act, 2013 which dealt with retrospective disqualification of directors before the Karnataka High Court.

Yashodhar Hegde, Advocate

Yashodhar Hegde is a graduate of University Law College, Bengaluru (2014). He joined Pragati Law Chambers immediately after graduation. He has experience handling a wide variety of commercial and civil matters. He has particular expertise in criminal law and construction law. He manages the criminal law practice of the firm. He also assists Manu on the real estate practice of the firm in relation to title reports, land acquisition matters etc. Apart from working with Ajay and Manu on matters relating to construction arbitration, he has independently handled several high value arbitration matters as against Public Works Department, Karnataka, and Nuclear Power Corporation Ltd. He is also appearing for some of the Accused in a matter relating to coal scam in New Delhi and also appearing in a CBI case filed against a cement major in respect of a railway scam relating to weighbridges. He also handles other types of white-collar crimes such as dishonour of cheque, cheating, misappropriation, employee fraud, offences under the Information Technology Act, Legal Metrology Act and other such enactments. He has appeared for Banks and other financial institutions as well as for borrowers and guarantors before the Debts Recovery Tribunal and Civil Court.
